We just returned from an awesome time in Santorini! TripAdvisor was used by us extensively and felt we had to leave a overview of our highlights. We used VRBO to find a fantastic home for the week.
We believed it was the ideal home in the perfect place in Imerogilivi. I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay. Food, the service, location, space was fantastic!
Loved walking into the market for beer and wine!
We walked into Thira – that is longer then what everyone had said – and we’re young and fit!
Thira is extremely nice – we loved it there and had to meals there.
The town gets definitely much less enjoyable and packed.
We were pleased to be remaining in Imerogilivi and off the beaten path.
The bus system was used by us – and it was efficient and modern.
Our meal was in Imerogilivi at Anjoi. It was busy and support slow – but food amazing and affordable.
We did also have a cruise which brought us back to Santorini – that left a very different perspective on the island.
It was the wait to get up on the two hours and a very busy day at port. We decided to walk up and frankly Santorini’s people ought to be ashamed of the donkeys. I have many opinions that I will not share – but Greece is advanced enough of a Country that this should have stopped years ago. Between horses and the donkeys being ridden by tourists or slipping on the steps or being wiped or being too hot or skinny or pregnant or being herded as possible it’s a impression about the island. If it wasn’t to Santorini for our remain – I believe I would have been disgusted by the island.
On our cruise afternoon – we had a beach day at Kamari – that was amazing. We loved the restaurant that we spent the day before utilizing their chairs and beach services and ate at.
The bus service was contemporary and simple and no problem for a way getting into the area.
The walk down was to vent was cooler and more easy the walk up – but viewing the donkeys and they had been treated left a picture on the island.
In summary – I loved the island in particular staying and expect something changes! I definitely recommend VRBO for any trip you have planned.
